hi, i'm asif 👋
i like making things that help other people make things.
i generally find it hard to describe myself but my favorite introductions so far are 'swiss army knife' & 'generalist of the highest order'.
i’ve worn a lot of hats in the last 7+ years - strategist, designer, tinkerer, trusted advisor, problem solver, and more recently playing around with a lot of ai. most of my work lives somewhere between communication, processes/ops and tech.
the journey
started out running social media accounts, ended up building automation systems and helping kickstart oddball products for people and companies. sometimes it pays the bills, sometimes it just scratches an itch.
now
things i've worked on
People+ai - first hire, starting from scratch. formally led events (200+ attendees over ~70 events) & community (from 0 - 2000+) at people+ai, actually fully exercised my swiss-army-knife muscles at this role.
The Art of Bitfulness - worked with the co-authors (Tanuj Bhojwani & Nandan Nilekani) to position and promote a book on starying calm and focused in the digital world. translated its ideas into online touchpoints and content & designed community events focused on connecting with readers.
helped scale Chemical Khichdi's & Aparna Piramal's social presence creating assets for workshops, talks & content.
still - worked with founder aastha gupta during the early days of the product to bring ancient yoga into modern lives. worked on the brand, content strategy, and product experiments through many launches.
started a one-man agency (called Desk) which over time grew to become a team of freelancers - now not working on this anymore myself although Desk is still taking clients exclusively on short-form video content & social media/design retainers (for now). reach out to asma@onlysif.com if you're interested.
freelanced across industries: HR, real estate, furniture, wellness, education, etc.
